After the amazing trip to the Holy Land last year with Cosy (Church of Scotland Youthwork) I was away with them again last weekend, this time to Rome, the centre of the Roman Catholic Church and the most important city in the world at the time when Christianity was born. It was amazing to see places like the Colosseum which even two millenia after use still have huge historical significance. But the highlight of the weekend for me was the time we spent in the Vatican. After a quick tour through the huge museum and some time in the Square and the Basilica we were really lucky to be able to get a tour through the Necropolis, the original Roman graveyard that still exists two levels below the Basilica where St Peter's tomb is supposed to be. The next day a few of us came back and climbed the 500+ steps to the top of the Dome, the highest point in Rome which offers amazing views over the city.
