Conducting Tip

I was singing for a conducting workshop taken by Patrick Russill this afternoon. It was very interesting being on "the other side" of a conducting workshop and I learnt a lot from it. There was one thing in particular which he said which I thought was worth sharing for anyone else interested in conducting - your gestures should be about how the people in your group produce their sound, not when they produce it, the when then takes care of itself. I've heard almost every conducting teacher I've ever worked with say something similar but this was the clearest way I've heard it expressed.
